IH 706 Brake Valve

Anyone ever rebuilt the hydraulic brake valve on a 706? I've got fluid bypassing the valve and pressurizing the brakes. Is it a real complex job?

No theres not much to goof up in that valve,but before you take it off check the ajustment.Besure the rod that hooks to the pedel is return all the way & that the pedel moves free.

i had a similar problem on an 806. there's not much you can do to the valve other than take it apart, look for something obviously broken, replace o-rings. as i recall, my problem was a broken screw that goes into one end of the spool and compresses a spring. when you take it apart, pay attention which spool goes into which hole- R and L are not the same.
