The 1964 model 140 has been setting for over 5 years. Was running fine when parked. We've
got it running but it's missing on cylinders 3 and 4. Could head gasket between cylinders
have blown?

Yes the head gasket could be bad but not very likely. A stuck valve of rings which would cause low of no compression are more likely. I'd fill both cylinders with ATF and let ti sit a couple days. If it has a horizontal exhaust I'd pour some down it also

The FIRST thing to do would be to make SURE the sparkplug wires to those two cylinders haven't gotten crossed.

Easy enough to pull valve cover off and make sure things are moving correctly under there .... . After you make sure plug wires are good.
