THIS IS MY FIRST POST FOR THIS FORUM. MY UNCLE RECENTLY BECAME INTERESTED IN STATIONARY ENGINES AND ACQUIRED AN IHC ENGINE. IT WAS IN THE POSSESSION OF A WIDOW WHOSE HUSBAND HAD TAKEN IT ALL TO PIECES, CLEANED AND PRIMED IT AND THEN, UNFORTUNATELY, DIED. NOW WE ARE FACED WITH PUTING IT BACK TOGETHER. THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE IS THAT WE DONT KNOW WHAT MODEL IT IS. HERE ARE THE NUMBERS ON IT. IF ANYONE CAN HELP IDENTIFY IT PLEASE LET US KNOW.
ON THE TAG IS: IHC 1 1/2 HP 500 RPM A 102549
CAST IN THE BLOCK IS: H 752
ANY IDEAS?

I'm pretty sure what you have is a IHC McCormick Deering model M 1931 vintage. It should have a W after the A in the serial #.If so It's a 1 1/2 hp Gas with a Wico mag. All M's were throttle goverened not hit-miss engines ,parts are readily available both used as well as new.I'm currently rebuilding one myself.Have fun, Mark

I also just got a ihc motor it has no tag on it due to it was in a fire. I am trying to find out anything I can about it. #"s on block is H 752. I am looking for parts and a book on this motor. along with any help. This is my first motor that I am going to try to restore myself, as I do have a 1921 arco 1 1/2 hp fully restored. I am just starting to collect but have a good start of motors/tractors. 1921 arco, a 1961, 1963, Simplicity landloard 101"s, A 1946 case vac,1965 lawncheif,a 1959 poulan chainsaw model kd, a 1936 briggs 1/2 hp model "Y" ,
a 1950"s simplicity walk behind, and a early 1900"s water pump. But I am still looking for other things to add to my collection.
