I'm in a pickle now.

Howdy,
Well, working on the R and in need of a crankshaft seal on the pulley side. One problem, John Deere no longer provides these. I thought my parts guy was just missing something since I bought a pair last year (screwed them up this time when I took the main bearing out). I guess I got the last ones in the country... ha ha. Anyway, does anyone know where I could find a new set? I appreciate the help. God bless.

Did you check john deere's online parts catalog? I'm not certain if it goes that far back, but you can even order your JD parts online and have them shipped to your house if you like. It's super slick.

Take the JD number to a seal and bearing distributer and they can cross it or take them ID and OD and thickness measurements.

like mike said take the # off it if you can find it & take it to your local bearing & seal place & they can match it with something i dont know how many seals i get from kelly supply here in norfolk thats usually 5$ cheaper per seal than getting same thing from IH dealer hummm wow need 2 seals & 5$ cheaper each thats 10$ saved ya dont use dealers much around here when they should have a sign on there door that says Bring Your Own Vasoline....

Howdy folks,

Appreciate the answers. I gotta kick myself for even typing that one. Typed before I really thought about the question I was asking. I crossed the number myself here at the store and found a seal that new idea uses that will match. Sorry about that. God bless.
