Inevitable Scope Creep

I think I am about ready to ship the carburetor to GB for a rebuild. If I am going to do that, I am thinking I ought to take the gas tank to a radiator shop for a good cleaning.

So, if I have the hood off, I probably ought to have the radiator cored at the same time.

Any other suggestions of things I shoud do while I have the hood off? I really only want to do this once so lessons from others would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Good time to jack up the front end and check the front axle pivot pin and bushing for wear. If you are lucky the bushing and pin will tighten it up, if it is worn like most of them are.If your luck runs kinda like mine does sometimes you might have to have the axle welded up and re-bored to fit the bushing or replace the center axle with another one that is not worn out. Check the water pump for leaks, check the cranklshaft pulley to see that it is tight and/or not worn out. Replace radiator hoses(easier to do with hood off.

Repaint the entire tractor, replace the steering wheel and seat, and then convert it to an alternator and install a new wiring harness and switch......Feature Creep...............
