Good Evening Everyone!
I took delivery of a "new" old tractor today, an H84 in pretty good condition. It'll take me a while to learn this tractor as well as I know my old Super H, but one problem I see is with the starter drive. The starter drive gear on the H84 slips, grinds and doesn't turn over the motor two out of three starting attempts. When it does catch, the motor turns over and starts easily.
Is this likely caused by a worn drive gear on the starter? Or perhaps whatever engages the drive gear is weak?
Any insights before I dive in with the wrenches?
Thanks for our advice.
Steve
