It is not an H, but them are pretty neat little tractors. Looks good, have fun, take your time, and above all, be very careful, they are small, but still have a lot of heavy parts on them.

Neato-burrito! Word of advice: Don't tear into everything at a mile a minute. Take it slow and tackle one system at a time. When I got my JD B, I unscrewed and loosened and hammered on every blasted part on the tractor. Then I was left with a pile of parts. I know it's hard as heck, but take it slow with a methodical approach.

Take yer time with her. Take lots of pics and make notes as ya go, so you know how to put things back together. B

Good way to get started. Take lots of pictures before and during tear down, will help with reassembly, Let's see, did this part go up and down or side to side, I don't remember for sure. As you disassemble, try to keep parts in order taken off, and all parts together, head & manifolds and bolts in one pile, wheels and axle's in another, clutch, etc. Take your time, make notes to refer back to, number as many things as possible, it all helps if you don't get it back together for a few months or longer. Just be careful with the heavy parts, don't be ashamed to ask for help. Buy a repair manual and use it!!! Now, have at it. Chris

looks like you should clean the garage first so you know whats what and have lots of room to work how long has it been sittin id take the spark plugs out and spray lots of pb blaster in there then dump some marvel mystery oil and kerosene in them this worked on my jd b that sat for 20+ years without spark plugs in it after gettin it freed i found the cylinders were pitted to bad to use the block but while they were soaking it give me time to work on everything else

Taking pictures during the process is a good idea-monitors your progress and may help in reassembly. Fill those shelves with lotsa coffee cans of bolts, small parts, etc, grouping like items together. Even note cards in the cans help to ID- might be a long time before assembly. Where possible, put bolts back into original spots during disassembly. Enjoy the project.

Makes for great conversation and reading later on. I have done this with the last tractors I have restored, along with keeping track of the hours involved. Makes you realize how we do this stuff because we love it, we sure aren't being rewarded financially. Good luck,

I sure did!! I feel a real connection between myself and this tractor, more so then the kuboda. I asked for the kuboda. My own sweat and blood and back breaking labor went into this one. I should change my handle to double orange, but i saw that on anoter site.....

Did you buy it locally or on YTMAG? How much did you have to pay for it? I too bought another tractor, I bought a 1938 F-20 Farmall, I have not picked it up yet. I paid $950 for it.

The neighbor guy grew up with an allis C and a CA. Im sure he will enjoy the B. I am planning to go one peice at a time, and there doesnt appeer to be much to tear down on this tractor. If'n you climb up on where the seat should be, the tractor looks HUGE!! Anyone need a steering wheel?? I got 2 extras here!! I opened up the toolbox and what i found included a rats nest and a chunk of a walnut.....

I went off on a limb, bought it about 4-6 miles from home. I was looking through the classifides here on YT and saw someone from brookville (my town) selling an engine so i wrote to them and asked. Diddnt even expect to hear back from him, but the next day i saw it and the next day i owned it!! Paid $450 in cash on delivery. I also got 2 torque tubes and 2 extra steering wheels. Im planning to take what i need and put the rest up in YT classifides.

I got an email from someone who has a repair manuel for me, so i will have one. I dont plan on tearing it down, just going peice by peice, cleaning inspecting and in some cases fixing the peice then putting it back and going to the next one.

Thats the garage, not the shop. Those are my moms flower pots and gardening things, the tractor is ajacient to the shop because we couldnt get it in the shop. It is a real mess to work with. Guess the kubota is gonna make some trash runs (throwing things in the loft for "temperary storage")

only two minor injuries, tripped over a drawbar while moving some parts around, and then the cultivator rack fell on me, so i decided to finish the job and take the other 1/2 off. So, im being as careful as i possibly can here, not doing stupid things. One time last year i somehow (dont remember now, something with a fence) chewed up my arm pretty good..... and the tracher pulled me aside and asked if my parents abused me LOL.........
