It's ALIVE!

Hey gang!

Yesterday my '37 A started up for the first time in probably 15 years. I've been working on it off and on as time and money allowed for almost 5 years now, and that was one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard.

Still have to finish dialing the clutch in, but so far, so good.

This was/is my father's tractor (and his uncle's before him), and he was pretty happy to hear it pop over the phone. He is coming up for my daughters 1st birthday this week, so he will get some seat time for the first time in a long time.

I could never have done this without you guys. As a tractor rookie, I have learned a heck of a lot about these old machines, and you guys got me through more than one tough spot.

Congratulations!! It's always a real kick in the butt for me to get one running for the first time, especially a family tractor.

Only one thing greater than that first pop off. That is when you put them in the field under load.There is no roaring engine at high speed just that constant bang-bang as they do the job. gitrib

thats true i remeber every secound of my first tractor drive but as for a first kiss she and i may have had to much to drink that night in jr high

Well, the folks escaped the hurricane down in Houston and managed to get their visit in, and my Dad got in some well deserved tractor time. We decided that this machine probably hadn't been started in about 20 years, which was probably the last time he drove it.

The smile on his face made all of the work worth it. He drove around the pasture over and over and had a great time!
