Had this problem in the spring ,and then over a week or too it fixed itself. I am wondering if there is material of some sort plugging the suction tube pf the hydro pump ???. Now ,The 430 hydraulix are acting up again ,,.fluid level is full ,now ,but was a gallon low ,,I hear the pump hissing working intermittently ,but it lifts very slow , it will lift the world given time... put a new filter in the spring,,just seems like exact same peculiar qirks .. seems like a lot of air going thru pump .problem was caused by low oil level this spring .. not sure were oil is going ,,the tranny level is not risin

I am wondering about the o-ring on the pickup tube bolted to the pump. Sounds like it is sucking air, or the tube is cracked.
Another posability is that something is restricting the pickup tube. It has no strainer on it, and something could have gotten cought in it.
You may try overfilling it a bit and see if that helps.

been thinkin along the same line Loren .it isnearly full now ,gonna park on a hill and flood that corner where the sump is and overfill the hydro , and see if that makes a differene , ..,,this spring I took the line off and it pumped and glugged out of the hose line ,,Other stuff needed done so I just had the 430 do non hydro work ,,couple weeks later I put it on the 3pt rake and everything was fine,and although a little slow it worked fine all summer now it is cooling off again and I wonder if that is related to the problem ? ,anyways ,Since it came here ,the hood has never been off this Liberty Ky 430.. I need to swap out batterys and would like to fix this problem while under there ,, and I am searching for ideas .seems like the pumps are trouble free . when I searched archives , there is very little about hydro problems on these tractors ,, most prevalent problem is the cyl seals ... btw ,,.. are you gettin rain ?,,.it sprayed over 8 imches around here ,so you may want to get everything under cover , guess its a good time to drive fence posts ,, too wet for anything else

We always put a peice of screen over the end of the tube and retained it with a ss clamp, anytime we had one apart.

It has to be that way to allow flow if crud partially restricts it. I believe that was a Case service department, (Syracuse) sugestion

Can"t you get to the intake pipe through the belt pulley cover???

None of my 430's have a torque tube to accept a belt pulley. I think that option went away with the 300 round noses.

Jim I worked on a 430 last week it had old gasket matieral around the pick up screen i cleaned it flushed the compartment with gas and fuel mixed and turned up the presure on the pump and it working good now

Hello Liberty Folx ...probably will get a good look at the inner workings soon ,while in there I would like to understand how to adjust the pump ,no need to answer by type if 100 words needed and complicated , mite give Jonathon a call while in there if it does not appear straight forward and self explanatory ,, it will be another day ,because today we will cut about 15 acres with the NH 477 AND THE Liberty 430 ... Many Thanx to All of You for advice..jim h
