I talked my mom into picking up that compressor yeaterday on her way home from work and she did. Its great!! I ordered a set of impact sockets for it, and i got it all set up. Its accually pretty quiet for its size and lack of oil, and i cant wait to try it out. Ive played around with the wrenches and the blow gun. I took a couple pics of it but this stupid computor doesnt want to cooperate so i cant post them now. It seems to be a good size and i'm very happy with it. Paying for it wasnt that bad, i managed to talk my dad into $175 of it but the rest still hurt.....Thanks for your advice everyone!!!!

Safety First! Lanse, Make sure you wear eye and hearing protection. Be mindful of the damage compressed air and air tools can do when you least expect it.

Congratulations. I LOVE getting new tools, especially good tools that make you smile. Now, take care of em and don't lose any of the sockets! If you do it right you can pass that set on to your kids SOMEDAY!

Hey Lanse, I'm glad your happy but I cont stress enough that safety is very important, wear eye protection and be careful. Take care of those tools wipe them off, and don't abuse them. Another thing is that impact will round off old bolts faster than you can say o s**t. A good 1/2 in or 3/4 socket set with a cheater bar can break things loose better than an impact any day. I'm just a few years older than you and I have learned the hard way many times. Take the project slow and have fun.

Yeah, be careful, especially when using extensions and universals on impacts. Darn things can fly off and hit ya in the head!! ( experience can be painfull) You really don't need to experience a 1" socket hitting your face. Trust me

Congratulations! Nothing handier around the shop than an air compressor. However, SAFETY FIRST always. Never operate anything powered by compressed air without wearing safety glasses. Make sure your blo-gun limits the nozzle psi to reduce the chance of injury from flying debris (the nozzle tip will have holes or slots drilled in the side of the tip). Many years ago I had a small piece of metal stick in my eye-long scary time with only being able to see with one eye. Also consider a good pair of mechanics gloves-I hated wearing them when my company started requiring them, but after a while they become second nature, and they sure do cut down on cuts and burns on your hands. Congrats. Pay attention to the safety advice the others have offered and always wear eye protection. I know you will get good use of the system Consider piping the air to other locations with sched 40 or 80 1/2 in pvc pipe. Saves dragging the comprssor around. Then you can get several cheap air hoses and have them at different spots. Henry

Hey Lanse I plumbed my shop with 1 inch PVC and put several quick connects around. very inexpensive and practical. Can leave the compressor in one place out of the way. used all HF for the quiks 30 CC

Be sure and watch out for fumes close to the air compressor. Remember the motor is electric and any bad fumes can set a blast in the area. Make sure you have plenty of clean air around it. Even painting close to it will fill the vents with paint. Just get more hose if needed to keep it far away from where you are working is best. HAVE A NICE DAY.

Do not use PVC for your airlines!!! When it fails, shrapnel will be flying all over the place. Use L or K copper or black iron pipe.
