I have a jacobsen g10 tractor 1960's I am guessing. was wondering if anyone could tell me some history on them. lots of power 4 speed 172cu in ford industrial motor. Value?? all uses??HP. thanks

Mostly used for pulling gangs of reel mower's on golf courses and parks. They were made for pulling lighter loads and had dual wheels for lower ground pressure. I saw one at an auction a few years ago that had a loader on it. Wouldn't work worth a darn with a loader because 1. It is too light and 2. It is geared too fast. I think they use a standard truck 4 speed trans. and rear end. They go about 40 mph so you could get to the different job sites faster. I would guess in the 40 to 50 HP range. Probably the same HP as an AG tractor with the same engine. My dad used to sell them years ago but I don't have any idea what they're worth. They were made into the 70's. Jacobsen sold a rebadged MF20C turf tractor as a G20 in the 80's. Dave

Well as usual I learned something new today on this forum. I had a MF20 industrial 1973 if I remember right and never could figure out why it was so high geared. It was a former State vehicle used to mow the side of the interstate with a flail mower. That sucker would fly on the highway in 4th gear high range. What was done to make them so high geared? It had the same ring gear and pinion as a standard 135 so I assume they changed the tranny gearing.

A bit too far north for my travels, and practicality. I will likely find one around Maryland, lots of golf courses used them. Thanks for the reply, though.
