can JB weld stand up to high temps, such as on muffler pipe?

Yup, fixed my muffler on the ol' motor home generator muffler and its still holding.

jb weld is allright . belzona super metal 1111 is the best withstands temps 180 degrees celsius.

put it right on the engine block to fix a manifold leak. filed it down flush. put new gasket on, never leaked, melted or anything. great stuff!

No, it melts at around 400 degrees.

There is another old product around that may help you. It's called Marine Tex, available at any boat dealer. I've used it for some "can't be fixed" things, and it works great.

I tried JB weld on muffler bolt threads on a leaf blower. Only lasted about 10 minutes.

Just remember if you have to mix ingredients then its just plastic. no matter what other stuff they put in it.

Havent used it on exhaust, but it worked GREAT on the radatior!!! I may never use solder again!haha..sl

350 degrees doesn't sound like it would work on most exhaust applications.

i wouldnt have a tractor motor or a boat motor if it wasnt for jb weld man i love that stuff

Have used JB weld for metal and it works good. I 2wouldn't hesitate to try it on a muffler. However, as someone elsse said, Marinetex is just as good. I have patched just about everything with it including gaoline tanks with no problems. Epoxy resins are not plastic and some of them have extreme high heat properties. womt hurt to try.
