JD 230 disk.....

Broke a axle on our disk, fixed, put gang back together. Dad took the springs off the blade cleaners so we could get back together. How do i get the springs back on???? Pretty hard to do.

It can be done, but is very hard. I have done it while replacing 1 spring. If I remember right we took the roll pin and slid the scraper out, put spring on then reinstalled. If I had to do them all I would take the gang back off and put springs back on and then raise gang back up. We use a floor jack get every thing started as we go up. Good Luck

Do what Cummins said- to get leverage when putting the scraper shaft back, use a good sized wrench or vise-grips...start it in the hole, and twist it into place.
