JD 2940 Rabbit- Turtle lever

Can anyone tell me what and when to use this feature. I am new to this tractor and don't have an operators book. Thanks

The wabbit & turtle is a hyd hi-lo. Shift it up or down as needed without using clutch pedal.

Just like the fable, Rabbit=fast, Turtle=slow, didn't work out for the 'R' in the end (of the fable)
