For a used replacement try Fry's 570-546-3968 Williamsport, PA.I have a mid 70's Jd 34 manure spreader. The eccentric cam shredded. Anybody know the best way to remove it and secondly where I can find a used one. New eccentric cam is over $1100. Thanks

Just for perspective a good used similar spreader is over 3,500 dollars and new I would suspect for something similar is close to 25,000 dollars. Knowing that might make it easier to swallow 1,100 dollars from JD. If your picture tells the larger story it looks like your spreader is in good condition overall. That would mean you could spend thousands on something other than replacing your current spreader.Alright. Halfway there. Shaft pulled and eccentric cam removed. Now just need to find replacement.
I don't disagree with you but brazing is becoming a lost art. Even the Mennonites are losing that can do spirit if that can't make any real money on it.What's wrong with the cam (photo?) Probably can be brazed up, or even a new one made without too much trouble.
It would probably be possible to make a steel eccentric and fit a pillow block bearing to it, making it better than new.Thanks. The bushing failed and the crank (C18777) actually broke into several pieces. I'm tending to agree that it's worth spending the money for a new part. Any used part would be as old as mine and aftermarket is always a little guesswork. Thanks for all the good info.
Yes, none of the grease fittings in the picture look to be used in the recent past. Grease cheap, parts expensive. Not sure how long you have owned this machine it may have been a preexisting condition. Just a casual observation, the grease zerks in your photo don’t appear to have seen much grease gun travel in the recent past. Wouldn’t hurt to change that to increase the longevity of many of the moving parts in the spreader.
