JD 435 Quadrant function with two sticks

Hello to all,
My tractor is a 1960 finished build on Dec. 30, 1959, warehoused on Jan. 8, 1960, went to California and was sold at Lawrence Tractor in Visalia. In regards to the Touch-O-Magic controls, was there ever a supplementary bulletin or any additional information that went out with these models with the two sticks describing in nature the purpose of the inside stick versus the touch control as explained in Operator’s Manual OM-T77-359 for the single stick Touch-O-Matic. I really do not know the purpose of the stick nearest the operator. I leave it forward and never do move it. I have only ever seen one other in a picture online. It is all OEM parts but the M1820T quadrant casting has the two M2101T segments which is different than shown in the operators manual. Mine does have the remote hydraulics but it has no effect to that equipment. Here is a picture and maybe we can get some input here. Even the parts catalog shows no parts for this addition. Of course, I have found other parts too that were not listed. The operators manuals were printed in the 1959 year as we can see all pictures have the early oil filter housing and the early governor cover. There is one picture of the two segment quadrant casting on page 6 but it only has one segment and one stick. If it can be explained, any information will be welcomed. Thanks to the Forum, Jess

The dual TOM was used to raise the front cultivator first with one lever and then raise the rear 3 point with the other lever. Be interested in seeing a pic of the left side three point arm. To don't believe any 435's left the factory with dual TOM. But one could be transplanted from a 430 with no problems.

Yes on the 430’s, have seen quite a few with front cultivator but never knew what controlled the movement. I have also seen 430’s and the left side lift arm has an extra casting, mine is as is pictured in the operator’s manual, typical 435. The tractor has never had anything attached to the underside. Just been puzzled all these years as to what function it had. Around these parts, you do not see any 435’s. Lawrence had three dealerships in a two county area and only sold two, from what I remember them saying. In the 1980’s they told me of another fellow that was buying parts for his but it was not sold at their dealership and came from out of the area. They were just rare as hens teeth and there are no working examples to view. Mine has been used exclusively as an orchard tractor for pulling a FMC/Bean Speed sprayer, that lever is just there with no real purpose. Cannot understand it being built like that. Original buyer was a friend of my dad’s, my brother worked for the guy and he too was a citrus grower and we got it exactly as it is but did remove some wrap around fenders a local fan shop had made. Anyhow, if I ever was questioned about it I would say the tractor has a few anomalies. Unlike the lever that I have seen on the 430’s that had three rivets attaching at the TOM control shaft, mine is welded. The other 435 that I saw had the same welded type as mine is. Hope someday to locate that tractor again. Thanks to deertails for the input though.
