JD 4430 front end loader problem

I have a JD 4430 tractor with a Koyker 500 FE loader with a hyd problem. I changed two hoses on the FE loader and now it will not lift the bucket. I have bled the cylinders several times but it didn't help. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Roy

I believe the two hoses I replaced are both on the boom. One is to raise the bucket, the other is to lower the bucket. Thanks for your input. Roy

First go back and check and make sure your hoses are hooked up properly, trace your hoses from the cylinder, right to the couplers one at the time making sure you don"t have one hose from the lift cylinder with a hose on the bucket cylinder both on the same SCV. Another thing you should have done prior to hooking up those hoses is did you blow through the hoses making sure they were free of any obstructions? Seen hoses that were crushed inside hose end one time from wrong setting being used on press when ends were installed.

If you got new male break away coupler ends with the new hose and there not of the high volume type your loader won"t raise and lower properly, the coulper can"t handle the volume of oil, the coupler seams to shut close, had this happen to me on a 256 versatile, changed male couplers to the high volume style and problem went away, got the high volume couplers from our case ih dealer

I think you must have crossed up the hoses when re-attaching them. In other words hooked a raise hose into the lower circuit and lower hose into raise circuit. I've seen this done before.

Over the years have had the male end of a couple couplers refuse to work. Even switching them to another backed in tractor for trials. Once sure it was the male ends they were replaced, the non working ones scrapped never to fowl us up again.

Just my 2cents worth for another cause.

There are two levers inside the cab. One raises and lowers the boom, the other one tilts the bucket. Thanks for your help. Roy

The front end loader wAS WORKING OK BUT HAD a leak in the two hoses that controls the up and movement of the boom. I changed out the two hoses and bled the cylinders but it still doesn't work. Roy

I haven't blown air through both hoses, however, I blew one out and it was ok. I will check the other hose today. Thanks Roy

Yes you are exactly correct, they are two separate circuits, however, the two hoses that I changed out were on the boom. Thanks Roy

Thanks for all the input I received concerning my loader problem. I found the problem. The male coupling was a little cocked because the hose underneath was a little too long and the female fiting would not flange up as snug as it is supposed to do. I disconnected the hose underneath and the male fitting stood upright like it was supposed to do, I then connected the female fitting and it fit snug. I connected the small hose back up and it works just fine. Roy
