a neighbor is interested in selling me a JD 607 rotary mower. It seems like a rugged built piece of equipment, but I notice that the shaft attaches to a straight bar to which the blades are then attached. Many other mowers I have seen have a "stump jumper" type steel disc to which the blades are attached. Is this a vulnerability when hitting a rock? Does anyone make an after market pan that would substitute for the straight bar? What"s good price for this machine (in good shape, I might add and little used-it"s too big for his tractor) He wants $1400.
Thanks.
Thanks.
