JD 730 flywheel ?

Is a new flywheel still being manufactored for a 730 diesel and I am not referring to a taper lock flywheel? I have a taper lock flywheel and am unable to keep this flywheel from moving. Thank you for any input.

Just how damaged is the crank?
If a properly installed taper-loc won't stay tight. A factory flywheel will fall off while starting the tractor.

There used to be a place in 2 cylinder mag out in missouri or somewhere that would re-spline cranks, maybe search into this and try to get that done. I think all you can get is used and they are 500-750 bucks then the splines may have some degree of wear.

I think you can still get them at john deere, but I bought a new one for my 730 diesel somewere in mass. but I dont have there # anymore and they said they had one more on the shelf but it was not a standard one, I got the standard one.I think if you put an ad on yt they might contact you.The crank was just what they said.

i think he charges 450 per end, not including shipping. the taperloc is the best but it must be installed correctly.

If you DO get a new one,make a mental note. There's a pin that goes in the back of it that goes in a groove in an oil spinner behind it. They're NOT in the new Deere flywheel. Voice of experience here. I put one on mine back in the mid to late 70s. Never gave a thought to that pin,and yes,it did some damage.

Please tell me more about the pin your talking about. Is it in the parts book at john deere.My email is open. The flywheel is what turns the oil slinger. So please update me on what you are talking about.

Deere still had them on the shelf 3 years ago $1500.00 at that time
