I Purchased a JD 730 Diesel from Loveland Colorado serial #7320385 the verbal history is. grandpa lived in Cincinnati Iowa purchased this tractor at the Chariton Ia.
.When he passed the tractor went to his son and grandson in Loveland. They completely restored it to excellent condition. The part that got me interested was according according to John Deere company it was made Jan.10th 1959 and delivered to Carrolton Mo. which is my home area.
It also has a unique clutch lever on it which I believe is factory because it has a john Deere like part # on it.
I would like help with Two things is this clutch lever a factory option. some said it was for use with a corn picker so you could drive standing up.
I am new at this but i will try to add some pictures
Also who might have purchased it in Carrolton, Mo around January 1959.

That thing looks like it would be miserable to operate sitting down unless you have ape arms. Can't imagine it would even be possible to be sitting and looking back when backing up. Turning it around to bend toward the rear would be a whole bunch better.

Here is the clutch lever on my '36 unstyled A. It was on the tractor when I bought it in the '80's. I always assumed someone just heated the lever and bent it. Don't know if a tractor that old would have ever had a corn picker on it or not. I know nothing of the history of the tractor before I bought it.
