JD A altenator

I am thinking about puting a modern day altenator on my 1952 A. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I put one on my 51 A and one on my 40-W. I think the model is a Delco 10si. It is a single wire hook up and they both work great. Got them at Jegs in columbus Ohio. I think they were about $89.00.

Rusty...
I have a WD-45 that I have an old Ford alternator on and it has died..
I think the 10si is too large to fit on a WD-45 without cutting some sheet metal..
What would be the right one to fit this..?
I'd rather go with a "One-Wire" set-up..

Thanks..
Ron.

Attn BushogPapa:
Jegs sells a small one wire alternator advertised as a dragster alternator. I have a boat with limited space and installed one about 5 years ago, has worked without one problem. You will have to do a little math with your tractor's engine speed and pulley size vs alt. pulley size to ensure the alternator is turning fast enough to produce ample current. You might have to change a pulley size. These alternators were designed for V8 gasoline.
engines.

Bill.
