Just wondering if anybody can tell me wat kind of compression i can get on a 48 b with .125 over pistons from murphys with stock stroke. Just wondering if it would be worth lenghting the rods or not. Kinda limited in my area. I would like to run 2nd gear

Murphy's can make pistons with whatever compression you want without lengthening the rods. If it's strictly a pulling tractor, get it to 11:1 or so. Opinions vary on ideal compression ratio for a 2-cylinder, my experience has been that cranking up the compression will make more power. My $0.02 worth after allowing for inflation. Mike

id just buy al mand w style pistons and rods lengthened alot cheap and it will run just as good..get a hold of josh blackburn on pulling forum. i did this to my 60 and a

unless you get big on tire or weight, it should run 2nd gear. I'd want a lightweight piston in there with long rods, not a long heavy piston though.
