JD B weight

I have a line on two B's. One is a late styled B with cast centers and add-on 3pt and one is early styled with stamped rims. The guy wants junk price and I need to know a weight on each. I'm thinking about 7500 lbs for them both. They have been under an open roof for eons and are rough to say the least. Don't know if they are stuck or not. Was afraid to act too excited when I saw them. They seem to be complete. The older one is partially disassembled. What should they weigh?

I would say that you would be closer to 8500 for both. I have a 46 B (early styled) with pressed wheels no fluid or wheel weight and it weighs 3850. The late B with cast centers will be heavier, if both have fluid you could be pushing 10,000

Well I'm not much help on the weights, but the 10,000 should be close. I bought 2 misfits in Duluth Mn. A couple years back & hauled them home with my 1500HD 6.0 liter & a tri axle fith wheel. I put the '40 on the front & '49 on the back, both have cast rear centers, not sure if they are loaded or not, but glad I have air bag helpers. Long road home to Sault Ste Marie Ontario, and yes we avoided the scale house! '49 was stuck but complete, might have $1500 in it now & runs. '40 ran but been collecting some of the parts to complete. Electric start & 7 inch lights, will be nice tractor again someday.

You will not get paid for the fluids in the tractor so I would pay only dry weight for them. Late w/cast you would be safe at 4200. Early w/stamped wheels,3800.

I have had both styles and i have an early one that is with pressed steel and right on the nose of 3450 and the later one was right about 4500 so 7500 is good enough guess....
