JD fuel injection pump shut off

The fuel inection pump on my JD 401 has a electric shut off. Today when the ign switch was turned off the motor didn't shut down. The motor did seam to run a little slower, but would not shut off completely. I disconnected the hot wire to the pump which didn't help. Any ideas what may be wrong? Thanks Stan

Solenoid shut-off valve is leaky? Or it is sticking open?

Sticking metering valve or the plastic ring has disintegrated. Pull the timing window off and see if there are small bits of black plastic in nit. If so, the only real choice is to have the pump rebuilt.
