JD R fuel consumption

My Dad and I have been thinking about buying a R and are wondering how much fuel they use an hour when working hard(such as plowing)?

My 1950 is about 2, 2 1/2 per hour

I have to say that my 720D is the same..squeezes that fuel...!!!

under maximum load it will never burn 2 gallons an hour unless turned way up or something wrong or overloaded badly. 1.87 i believe off top of my head per nebraska tests.only its descendent, the 720/30 was better, not by much & anything other than another 2 cyl jd wont even come close for fuel efficiency. they held the record for many years.
