JD seat absorber?

Has anyone found a replacement for the seat absorber used on pre 1985 JD's. JD PN=AL39942.
Their website shows it is still available for $67.26. But that seems high just a tiny shock absorber. Was told a golf cart one might work???

It is a 3130, but they used the same as 2840 and whole bunch of other pre 1985 tractors above 60HP!

My suggestion would be to take the old shock to someone like Farm and Fleet or NAPA who can probably match what you have. I say this only because I matched a shock at FF on a 730 float ride seat. Good luck

For that kinda money you can buy a complete aftermarket suspension seat.

Yes, but beware....I've purchased two lately. One for an 1120 which sits you too high (and you can't lower it) and another for a 2040 which isn't as tight as the original and seems just a bit flimsy and the bottom won't fold up like OEM.

I am also used to thinking in terms of wholesale cost since I work in parts and can get discounts.
