JD2555 hydraulic problems

Need help with a problem. On my john deere I get no fluid to the tank above hydraulic pump. No fluid to the lines changed filters and the screw on filter was half full of fluid. I am able to put fluid in the tank above the hydraulic pump and use the front end loader untill it goes dry then it quits. There is a quick connect underneath that has great hydraulic pressure but that is the only one on there that has any pressure

Has the tractor always done this? Is this a new problem? How are the loader hydraulics connected to the tractor? What brand of loader control valve(s)? Set open or closed center? Does the power steering, rockshaft and scv's operate properly? Any low pressure oil lights on the dash? If the transmission charge pressure is low, a dash light should light up? Does the trans light glow when the switch is on but the engine not running?

the power steering the 3 pt hitch does not work the dash has been smashed and none of the lights work properly was using the tractor when the hydraulics chatered a bit and then quit it has a hydraulic pump in front of the radiator and it is a 4wheel drive cab tractor with a JD 450 front end loader

Luce,
If your tractor is equipped with a two speed and tractor will not shift or move in one of its two speed modes, your problem may be driveline related as it may have the drive hub on main clutch pressure plate that drives the transmission pump failed. If two speed does shift up and down you have a internal transmission pump circuit leak. Remove the hydraulic filter cap and start tractor to see if oil is being pumped to filter, if not your problem is driveline related. DW

May have been running low trans pressure for a while and burned out a set of clutch packs too. Saving the money not repairing the dash may have cost more in the long run.
Either the inlet to the trans pump is plugged with failed brake/highlow clutch or pto clutch/brake material. A trans line is split. Perhapes a trans relief or divert valve is stuck.

(quoted from post at 15:27:12 10/11/10) the screw on filter was half full of fluid.

Filter not being full is because it's a "return oil filter".

I'll repeat what buickanddeere asked!!!!!!! HOW IS THE LOADER PLUMBED INTO HYD'S?????????????? If it's an ind.valve then that could be your problem as it could be leaking to sump(reverted to open-center)

How many hrs on speed/hour meter?

Have you cleaned sump screen?

The front end loader is plumbed in through the remotes and quick connects in the rear levers are beside 3 pt control lever

Sorry but who ever connected a loader, log splitter, backhoe, air seeder etc to a Dubuque or Mannheim tractor. Has set you up for poor, noisy and cavitating operation at the best of times. Even when there are no other faults.
Returning oil directly to the trans sump starves the front high pressure pump. Because the trans charge pump is much lower gpm than the front pump. Plus it also supplies trans lubrication, trans oil cooling circulation, apply high/low clutch packs and apply the pto clutch or brake.
Odds are now there is a plugged trans screen, plugged trans filter, blown/split/loose internal trans oil line or a stuck trans relief/divert valve.
There should always be oil flowing from the transmission up to the front storage tank and oil cooler. This oil either feeds the inlet of the front pump when there is demand. Or flows cooled oil back to the transmission.
Connect the loader control valve direct to a high pressure line on the right side of the trans case. And return the loader oil into a ported trans filter cover.
After a couple minutes of operation with the improved supply and return connections. You will find the clown that connected it *ssbackwards in the first place and give them a blast of wrath.

Since you loader is scv controlled and doesn't have an ind valve that eliminates an open/closed center loader valve problem.

Remove hyd filler cap and look inside for spraying oil with engine running and 3 pt raised.

If and I'm quoting you[/quote]There is a quick connect underneath that has great hydraulic pressure but that is the only one on there that has any pressure

Is this quick dis-connect located on the pressure control valve on RH side of trans next to hyd filter and tee'd into the line that feeds the SCV's???????? If so I don't see how it can have pressure but the scv's don't have pressure.
