Jd300loader

Can someone help me once again with a jd 300 loader? Drained all the oil cleaned all hydraulic lines, repacked all the lift cylinders, cleaned the horizontal screen filter under the seat, changed both hydraulic filters and added new oil. Tractor will move very slowly going forward, but with no power. Very much like a worn out or slipping clutch. However, using the reverser, it has tons of power going backwards. In addition, it has a loud whine while in reverse. The whine is like when you extend a hydraulic cylinder all the way and continue to hold the valve open. Thanks in advance for your help.

My 400 did the same thing. I had good pressure in the reverser. It was the clutch packs in the reverser that were shot. 3500.00 later it works like a charm

Check oil pressure at reverser control valve. Bottom plug on rear cover.. If no pressure or low pressure there, check reverser lever detents with engine off .. Should hear detent click as it goes from direction to direction.. If pressure is low , I'd say it's time to split that tractor right behind the engine and see what's the matter with that forward clutch pack.. It can be pulled without removing the reverser by cutting the clutch throw-out bearing shaft between the 2 bolt holes.. Then weld the shaft together afterward.. The clutchpack will pull out after the aluminum cover is removed.. Check the bushing that's pressed into the reverser case where the sealing rings run.. I've seen some ugly bushings there, that will cause leaks in the future..
