John deere 230 disc

the are ok but they eat scrapers, a 235 is alot better, get one with wheels on the wings, we had a BWA with cone blades in sticky heavy soil and it worked ok, I always thought cones buried more trash, you could pull a 19' I would just as soon have a red disk. I have a 490 and if I ever have any money I'll replace it with a 496.

Poor excuse for a disk, ridges too much. If really cheap or already own it and you are just wanting to "dig", it will work. If really wanting to do a good job, look for another brand, particularily IH. Many dedicated JD equipment owners pulled IH disks. A black gang 230 vs the original yellow gang had several improvements which from what I've see makes it worth nearly double. I was looking for a black gang 230 or 235 to convert to a vertical tillage tool, but found a better, heavier 335 instead. Wouldn't have been interested in any of these JD implements for most general disking jobs.

I have green teeth and yellow underwear, but James is right- I wouldn't own a JD disk from that era, especially one with yellow gangs.
