John Deere 317 hydro

I am wanting to change hydrostat oil and filter on my newly aquired JD 317 but I dont see a drain plug anywhere under the rearend. Do I remove the pump suction line to drain oil out?

Go back and look again. Somebody told me I had to remove that hose to drain my 318 but while under there I saw a drain plug.

Also what fluid does everyone recommend to use in the hydro?

The 317 operators manual says to remove the cooling tube to drain the hydro and refill with about five quarts of JD Hy Guard or ATF type F. The level is 1/4" - 1 1/4" above the slot for the sight tube.
