John deere 4400 combine

i agree get a 213 i have a 16 foot rigid head and have the gas motor if you get into 45-50 bu beans it really slows it down so you just have to take smaller swaths but other than that the 4400 is a good smaller combine

Should run a 215 just fine. Alot of them seem to have had 213's. We ran a 215 on our diesel in 50 bushel beans for years. We still have ours for sale if anyone is interested. !977 2 heads and machine. Great condition.

I have one with the 213 flex head. In 90 bu/ac small grain it will work pretty hard it gets better as the yield drops. At 70 bu/ac you're working in second gear pretty close to max on the variable speed.
In beans since I do double crop the best I've seen is 45 bu/ac and run in 3rd gear about half on the variable speed.
It'll handle a 215 but you slow down.

Agree with VADAVE. I have a 13 ft on mine, diesel. In second with the variable speed wide open,it will EAT 75 bu wheat and pull the straw chopper just fine. Can't get enough rain in summer to test it good in beans.

We had a 215 flex on our 4400 gas. Was fine in wheat, struggled a bit in beans if they were tough or weedy. Should be fine with any 213,215,216. The 216 would definately be the largest I would go with, and that would be if it had a diesel.
