John Deere 566 Round Baler

I'm looking for anybody's opinions and experiences with a JD
566 Round Baler, I'm looking at one to replace my Hesston
560 Round Baler. I have never had a JD Round baler so any
info would be great.

I have a young neighbor with one, and he can destroy an anvil, but that John Deere baler keeps going somehow.in my area it is about evenly divided with John Deere and Vermeer and owners of both swear by them. I have a Vermeer because the dealer is great. There is nothing bad about that baler that I know of.

I have no personal experience with a JD 566 rd baler but I think a 566 should be a good baler.

20-25 years ago ran one for custom operator. Had surface wrap and string,didnt have too many problems till got around 10,000 rolls put thru it then seemed monitor wanted to act up a lot.

ran 30,000 rolls thru a 2000 model keep bales about 5ft8or9 and it will work better with wrap..string ok bigger...the latches get stretched and they make replacement ones of cast..good luck
