John Deere 930 discbine

I am looking for a different discbine we now have a 411 NH that is junk.I found a Deere 930 but do not know anything about them, not sure if it is rolls or flails yet(I do not want flails). Was the 930 a good machine or not? How old would it be? It is priced at $4500 which seems reasonable. There is also a dealer sale coming up with several gray and red New Idea's and a few 1411 NH's maybe they would be better. We cut 250 acers a year and have no rocks. My NH dealer said to not spend any money on the 411 as the parts are way overpriced,he said he don't care what I buy but get rid of the 411.It needs rolls and cutterbar work as it was wore out when we got it but it was cheap and has got us buy several years.

The JD 930 is a good machine. They where the first series that had the JD built cutter bar. They could be roll or IMPELLER conditioning. They are not a flail conditioner. Up at speed the tines work more like a brush to condition the hay. It will take 100-125 hp in thick hay. That machine is a 11 ft. 9 inch cut machine.

Do yourself a favor and get a Kuhn or NH. Those JD MO-CO's have a bad reputation around here. Kuhn and NH rule the roost. That JD can't be much for only $4500.

John deere makes a good solid moco and parts are almost never a problem to get. As with any used machine condition is everything.

I have a 920 which is same series but one less disc. I bought mine cheap too, even though it was pretty nice. It has impellers, and it does seem to pull harder than a new holland with rolls. But it is heavier built and has been very reliable since I've had it.
