who is the best one to go to to put a 6in plus bore in a stock john deere a block. i would like to stay away from the aftermarket blocks. but still get to that 6.25-6.50 bore range. thanks

I would go with someone besides Jack's Auto. Ever since Jack passed away I've seen some rough work come from them. Just my personal experience others may have had a better experience.

If you persue this, be aware of what sleeve material is used, and get a warranty against leaks. Steel sleeves are hard to get rings to seal, and tend to warp out-of-round after several heat cycles. I had one with steel sleeves, and it's nothing but a boat anchor. Saw one pressure checked last weekend that leaked like a screen door on a submarine. Just so ya know what you're possibly getting into...................

Dont waist your time and money if you are going to go threw all that work just buy a block from murphys yes a lot of money but by the time you pull yours apart and try to fix it three time you will have that kind of money tied up .

I am not re welding sleeves in but have been taking powerblocks to 6.375 with top quality sleeve material... I run a jacks block 6.75 bore and have never had a problem and doesnt smoke at all. I know people who have water leaks and some who have busted ears off too the best route is a broken sleeve powerblock and go bigger or like mike said and go to murphys. Jeff builds a great product

thanks Mike and Josh. looking into bigger bore i am already at a 9.25 so the only other way to go is with the bore. thanks for all the inputs just cant bring myself to dishing out 4400 for a block and then have to change my head i am a unstyled tractor. thanks again.
