John Deere A Hubs

Has anybody ever seen weighted front hubs on A John Deere A? They weigh around 40 pounds each.

They have some that were thicker cast as a heavy duty option.

If this is what you mean, they are aftermarket. I do not remember seeing anything like a weighted hub for the front wheel in the parts book.
This photo was taken at the Montgomery City Mo. fairground. They have a very nice show with lots of steam. antique cars, and engines. Also some very nice unique tractors.

There are several front wheel weights (AB5564 is one example) listed in the AC-1000 Attachments book, but they say that they were 100 lbs. each.

I have a set of weighted hubs on my '49 "A". Not sure what the part# is but the extra weight is between the rim boss and the pedestal.

i have 2 sets of these hubs they dont work on rollomatic fronts only strait axels i will sell one set if you are interested

Kent, will they fit on a Roll-A-Matic if you lock it, or do they still interfere?

Those wheels were made by F&H,and are adjustable, used alot on listed crops, not Kay Brunner. Kay Brunner would be a smoothe cast with Kay Brunner cast in them..

Was there a hub like this for the b's if so what's the part number?

I do not know anything about them except they are what is on my A with the missing serial number. I think it is a 1948 or so.
The things I have noticed about mine is the front hub weights, rear pressed steel wheels, and extra tall clutch handle. It has the choke on the dash and the newer style clutch so it should be newer than my 47 and older than a 49 or 50.

Frank i dont know never tryed but i think the spacing is wrong for the rims

I have a 51 a rol-a matic with a set of those on it. they have a JD casting # on them and they show them in the parts book
