john deere b Carburator help

I was trying to get the float bowl nut off(marvel scheblerDLTX-67) and the nut snaped ogg however the threaded shaft it attaches to(part of carb body) snapped off as well,DOH...So i guess my only option is to get a whole new carbcorrect? This really is not good. Anyone ever have this happen to them?

Search in the archives. I remember reading that somebody could weld them/reattach them for people when they broke off. Good luck.

Is there a different carb i could use besides the schebler DLTX-67? i called Roberts Carb repair and they can fix it but not sure if thats the way to go or buy a rebuilt one. Roberts will cost about 200.00-250.00 is this a good price to pay for just the reapir no rebuilding? I am not sure what to do. thanks for all the helpful info.

The threads in that nut and on the stem are the same as the threads on a spark plug for an unstyled John Deere tractor.

Get another carb. They seldom work very good after repair. The price Roberts want to fix yours will almost buy a good rebuilt one.
