I stopped in a private museum in Manitoba and they had a Deere that I can't identify. I have seen a picture of a model c and it looks the closest. It kind of looked like my 1940 AR but the intake and exhaust don't run through the hood. So what's the history on the John Deere C?

Did you get a close look at any of the castings? The castings on my 29 GP start with a C. Like the other post, JD started to make it a C but thought there would be confusion with the D so they called it a GP.

I worked with a fellow mechanic that had a model C that he restored. As I remember Deere made abt 11 of them but then decided to scrap them. His somehow escaped and was saved. He farmed with it for a few years. He payed $75 for it and sold it a few years later for a reported $5000 to a Musieum But cant remember where, seems like South Carolina but not sure. He used a lot of D parts and some Gp as I remember. It was a real neat tractor and we didnt quite know what we had. This was back in the early 1960's.
