Hello every one last september I went over to the neighbors to look at a D he said he drained the water out well I got nosey and pulled the engine oil plug out and about a half a gallon of water came out it was parked in side what do you think the chances of this tractor being ok are?

Can't say for sure but when I started working on my 1935 JD-B I drained about 4 gal. of water out of the engine and about the same from the rear end and it runs just fine now. It was also locked up so its just a hope and see sort of thing on them. I just payed for a D last week and hope to haul it home soon. I hope I don't find water in it but I figure I probably will. Again only time and playing with yours or the one I got will tell

I'm sure he was referring to draining the water out of the engine block and radiator. Water in the crankcase is a common occurance from condensation or just sitting outside in the rain. Engine is more than likely okay. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Just need to check the oil pump coupler.

D is similar to the R, and sometimes the R does not completely drain. Guys found that when they drained water for the winter. Better to use AF in them. But you're talking about water in the oil pan. Different issue- could be condensation, or water leaking in from the block.
