John Deere fasteners

Can anyone tell me the name of the type of fastener that holds the hood on the John Deere A and B tractors? Its not a torx or an allen, thank you

don't understand, every Model A or B that i ever worked on the hood was held on by a bolt and nut They have a caged nut in the rear to attach dash.

Clutch head bolt . They have a special socket to turn them so you don't damage the paint job . You can get them in a kit from Stieners or Sharps but they are proud of them . Kits go for around 70 to 80 bucks. I need some also but don't want to give that much for some Chinese bolts . You can try Direct Connection also .

Clutch head screws have a "bowtie" shaped recess for the driver to fit in. Over the years most have been lost and replaced with regular hex head cap screws. The A I'm working on now still has some of the original clutch head screws though!

Not sure when Deere changed to the clutch head bolts, but Dad's '43 'B' and my '41 'B' had a higher than you see these days Phillips head bolt.

Our '49 'A' and '52 'B' had the clutch head bolt.

Many of my "B"s were missing or damaged , so when I got mine all out ,I replaced them with modern Torx screws . Only the correct police can tell !
