what are the proper battery/batteries for a john deere 630

Two six volts in series ( to make 12) is the original. I use one 12 instead.

Well there actually was a tractor made you start kinda like that ! Field Marshall may be the name ? 1 cyl. I think ? You start it with a cartriage that is like a blank shotgun shell.
