Let us enjoy the competition, strategizing, intrigue, and above all, the friendship and comaraderie involved in the hobby of tractor pulling through the most important variables of it all; our cohort pullers, suppliers, videographers, photographers, writers, equipment operators/owners, promoters, sponsors, bookkeepers, engine builders, etc. We should consider one another "fellows" rather than "enemies." ("Fellows" is gender neutral in this sense.) It is sure that there will be disagreements and differences of opinion at many turns, but at the end of the day we should be able to show ourselves friendly and hospitable.

If you don't find most acquaintances to be friendly, yet the better part of those acquaintances are friendly among themselves, the person who is the common factor in the unfriendliness shouldn't be hard to identify. However, a mirror may prove to be a helpful tool.

Lamont, I could not agree more. I don't know what part of the world you call home, but it seems that the same situation occurs in tractor pulling circles everywhere. None of us (other than maybe the engine builders) make our living through tractor pulling. It is a sport or a hobby or a pass time, but whatever you want to call it, it should always be fun and be for fun.

Alot of it is childish and petty jealousy. Some people want to be accepted for how they are, but dont want to do the same for others.we are all lndividauls, different in many ways and that makes for a colorfull sport. Lets just pull.

AGREE we have met some very nice people have had a ton of fun come on guys and girlies it is our hobby winter is winding down its middle to end of january already we will be pulling in 60 days in west alton,mo. GOD willing be thankful for what you have help a fellow puller out whenever you can terry

I agree 100 percent we may have disagreements at some of the pulls but at the end of the day we should load up and leave as freinds and had fun and try again the next pull that we meet at.Help all your fellow pullers when you can.EVEN JD PULLERS right Terry.

Wonderfully stated Lamont! At our last pull I helped a new puller with his tractor set up,(even though it was the wrong color tractor)! He ended up knocking my Dad out of first place in that class. I was really pleased as was Dad. We need to remember that what goes around, comes around. Good or bad. Let's make it all good!! Kip

Well said all. If I want stress and politics I'll go to work. I enjoy the stress relief I get from tractor pulling. A couple years ago I went to the funeral of a fellow puller and there were about as many fellow pullers there to support the family as there was family. A few years before that I was at a pull competing with my red stuff when a fellow puller was pulling with his green stuff and slung off a fan blade in his first class which made it vibrate something awful. He was getting ready to load it on the trailer when I asked him if his fan was repairable and he allowed that it wasn't so I went and got my hammer and chisel and knocked of the blade on the opposite side and got it back in balance and he proceded to beat me in the next two classes and we all had a lot of fun with that.

I had a guy come up to me years ago at one of the first Michigan NATPA pulls and was talking to me about my 77, He Came from Canada and said he had a 77 he wanted to start pulling back home. I told him if he was back on Sunday I"d let him pull mine in a EMTPA class.

Well sunday he was there all smiles, I think that smile got wider as he got farther down the track. As did his Dad watching. He walked away with a first or 2nd place that day. So I"m sure he became hooked for life and it gave him the drive to join the brotherhood.

I"ve do that every chance I get with a interested person that doesn"t have the chance normally. And it"s worth more then a 8 dollar trophy on my shelf.
