Can anyone tell me some info on Kelly Ryan? Where and when they operated. Who bought them out. What they built. Was a small spreader on the home place. It served us well as a spreader and later a wood hauler.

along the Mo. river in Blair, Ne,I went there once to get a feeder wagon, we had one of those narrow KR elevators that you had to put the bales into it at an angle, they told me if the workers built 100 elevators on a Fri. Kelly would buy them a keg of beer! They also built disks and a few other pieces of farm equip.

We had two Kelly Ryan elevators and a 6X12 manure spreader. They were as basic as they could be but well built.

Probably the reason dad bought them was they were cheaper. Also, my grandpa and Kelly Ryan were friends so there might have been some barganing going on.

Went through Blair last January and it looked like there was still activity around the factory. Jim

the winch on the elevator wasn't one of the better designs, let go of the crank and it would go from full up to down in about a half a second! Dad told us early on to hold on to the crank tightly.

Pa bought a small Kelley Ryan manure spreader from a dealer here in Mn. and drove to the factory in Neb. and pulled it home behind the 72 Dodge Polara.
