Doe' anyone know how late the kerosene tractors were made,I know there was some TO-20's built this way. Was there any F-40's built?

If this is correct there is always something new to learn as I had never heard of a Kerosene powered TO 20. Of course until John (UK) mentioned it I had never heard of a TO 30 diesel.

We have not found any records for any F40 kerosene burners being built. There was little demand for Kerosene burning tractors in the USA as gasoline was so cheap and they were a lot more powerful too. Kerosene burning engines are really only suitable for hot climates, you could not really expect to be able to use one in your freezing climate in the North as the fuel would be difficult to vaporise and burn, and then that would result in wet plugs and oil dilution and wrecked engines, as you can bet they would not change the oil. We had all that and if there had been cheaper gasoline we would never have considered them, we were glad when diesels came along.Having said that, used as they were supposed to be used they worked fine and were cheap to run. The trouble wasn't the Engines so much as the operator....John
