King Kutter implements

Hey guys, does anyone have experience with the King Kutter brand of implements sold at TSC? My local TSC is having their demo days sale, and I am considering buying a new 5 foot mower and 3 point harrow. If they're mediocre quality or not much cheaper than a more established brand I won't bother, but they sure seem to sell alot of these implements.

I have an old K.K 5" "bushhog" mower, real solid mower. Also have a KK 5" scraper blade, it does the job.

I have a KK 6 ft "5 Points" rotary cutter("bush hog")witha 60 hp gear box and slip clutch. It's considered medium duty I beieve. It weighs about 725# and my TO-30 hydraulics can easily pick it up but the front end needs about 100# of ballast to keep the steering responsive. The "5 Points" units have a golden brown paint job and are supposedly have a better fit & finish. The dealer that I bought it from says that he only order the "5 Points" models because the yellow models are hard for him to sell. I compared this KK with the Wood's and quite frankly, I couldn't see the value of paying twice as much for the Wood's. I've had no trouble in two years of use with the machine and I do not regret buying this KingKutter. There are those who would disagree but I'll wager most of the never used a KingKutter.

When King Kutter first came out there stuff was a little on the junk side, but threw the years they have really stepped it up!! I have a few implements made by them and I don't have any complaints. If you were going to use say a brush hog alot and really work it hard then maybe you may want to go with something better, but for something you may not use much for your money King Kutter would be the way to go.

I have a 5' rotary mower and a 6' box blade behind my TO 20. Both work great. My wife's Uncle rents a house to them in Windfield Alabama. No discount from them.

I have an older model 5ft KK model that is painted blue, used it for years on a MF 135. It has worked fine. I've seen some problems with new KK mowers sold at TSC, such as yokes breaking due to inferior metal and weak gearboxes. If you have a smaller tractor < 40 hp and will mow mostly grass you should be OK with a KK. I also have a Landpride 6-ft rotary mower for the bigger tractor MF 165 and it seems to be better built and much more rugged than the KK. Check the gearbox hp ratings and match to your tractor. My personal choice if I was buying new, based on my experiences and info. from my neighbors that also do a lot of hard mowing, would be a Landpride or Woods rotary mower.

I have a King cutter finishing mower that I bought from TSC. It's a 6' model that i'm have been ussing for my second year. It's a really good mower that is made really well. The deck is 3/16. Thats 5 times thicker than the howse bushhog i'm fixin' to trade in.

I just picked up a King Kutter Rotory mower brochure at a local dealer as I am looking to sell my 5' Howse and get a 6'mower. The 5' works great but a bit narrow for the back of my TO-35. The KK mowers are available in 12 & 10 ga. as well as 3/16 in the HD line. Gearbox options of 40, 60, & 80hp. More info available at www.kingkutter.com. Steve

them TSC harrows (assuming you mean a disc harrow)'aint cheap. You should check local tractor dealers or local auctions for a used one, as the older harrows were built better than the new King Kutter or Farmforce models sold at TSC, and can be found at half the price. You can also rent harrows from some large commercial/industrial rental outfits, or maybe at a local implement dealer - depends on your location. good luck
