I just picked up 2 heaters for free. F66D and F110D. Anyone have a manual or know what the pressure needs to be? I can't find manuals doing a search. The F66D runs for a short time and stops. I hav'nt put fuel in the otherone yet. thank you in advance. Rick

Do a search for ReddyHeater, I think they are all pretty much the same.

I've got a reddyHeater that exhibited the same symptoms after just two years. I nursed it along for another year, priced out the parts and special tools needed to repair it, and bought another brand new heater instead.

In a lot of cases, those torpedo heaters using a venturi pump to move fuel to the burner.
Running for a few seconds or minutes then going out , means water in the fuel tank.
clean the tank and they are OK.

I doubt if it's anything in the fuel, but it's possible. Heaters like that don't require any special tools...other than a gauge that will read the relatively low pressure created by the vane pump. They're very simple in design and easy to work on. Parts are cheap as well....unless you need something like the fan motor itself.

Portable Heater Parts has tech manuals available for download on heir site.

The Knipco brands have a fuel filter in the line. you have to pull the line out of the tank and blow it backwards to clean it. It is about the size of the line so it is not to big around.

Knipco, Reddy heat, John Deere, and Desa heaters are all the same. Desa International makes them all. They usually just need a good cleaning.
The fuel line that goes down under the nozzle has a filter in side of it. DO NOT BLOW IN TO THAT LINE WITH THE FILTER STILL INSTALLED. That will break the screen lose and it will fall into the tank. You loosen the fuel nut and slide the line down into the tank a little. Then slide the nut down so you can see the top of the flare. The filter has a rubber sealing washer that fits the flare and has a long screen that hangs down into the line. Just pull it up out of the fuel line.
Clean/replace the air filters. There are two. The foam one that you can see from the out side. Then there is a paper/felt one under the cover that the foam fits into. Just remove the screws from the cover and remove it.
Drain the fuel and put new into it. K1 is best. YES they will run on diesel fuel but they make more smoke and suet. I buy several heaters each year that people say are bad and will not run. Usually bad fuel or water. IF the fire goes out for just a few seconds the electric eye shuts them off. So a little water blowing through will make it on/off type of flame and will burn out the eye.
Then after checking all of that then check the air pressure. That is right they pump air not fuel. It is a venturi type fuel system. I will look up the air pressures for you.
