Krause One-way disk

Does anyone have an owners manual or operationg - ajustment instructions for a one-way disk, preferably a Krause 12 foot one-way?

I've used this thing for years and years, but never felt that I ever had it set quite right.

I would appreciate a photocopy of such manual and am willing to pay for same, of course.

That's funny - seems like a lot of people have used them for years and always wondered if they were "set quite right". Me included.

One of the old-timer neighbors (about 90 - had farmed all his life), used to pull two together with a piece of railroad iron dragging lengthways behind the rear one down the wheel furrow to help it pull correctly.

I know that idea didn't come from the factory!!

I don't have a manual or I'd send you a copy...

I pulled a 12 foot Krause one-way for years, but can't help you with out being there looking over your sholder. Don't think a manual would help. Just stand back and look at it and think real hard. You got to put the drawbar WAY over to the front corner. Closer to the tractor the better. The oneway furrow wheel all most touching the tractor tire. If it wants to come out of the ground, cheat a little with the back a little deeper than the front. Lots of weight on the back end.

Yep - I've seen lots of stuff for weight on them...

I'm still kicking myself over a sale a few months ago, though - there was an old one-way with a spoked wheel chained to the rear for weight...

It didn't even cross my mind it might be a Spoker D flywheel - I thought it was oil field -until after it sold and I heard a guy mention that it was off an old JD D...

Like the others said sometimes it just takes a bit of looking and studying to make it work and lots of weight on back more than came from factory. Factory cast wheel weights on both sides still were not enough at times. Old Ford tractor axle weights work well to bolt on it you can find some.

Apparently Krause knew how to set them to pull 6 together !!
