How many tractors will end up in the scrap pile? I notice a lot of the tractors at the end of today are fairly common. Are the scrap guys waiting around for these tractors? Just wondering how many will be saved.

I was there on Tuesday and 95% of the Ring A items went to scrap. They are setting up a processing plant on site and would send it out on rail. I talked to a guy there that said 75% of the tractors are stuck. Most are missing parts. I talked to another guy who was looking for JD D parts. He needed to get three tractors to get his parts. He said he couldn't afford to truck them home if he bought them. There is a reason the equipment was in the junk yard in the first place. If it was there for any period of time, the good parts are gone.

I live in western NE and attended the auction on tues, fri,and sat. There wasn't any tractors sold on tues, just loaders, corn heads, balers, etc, and yes it was junk and went to salvage. As high as tractors were on Fri. I don't think salvage buyers had a chance. Seemed like every tractor sold went to a different bidder number.

Yeah,

But, didn't they all look nice after being dug out of the sand, washed off and lined up in rows!? :>)

Ya gotta give that outfit credit. Getting a crowd to drive half way cross the country and then bid on scrap junkyard iron is a feat. :>)

I wish they would have let me consign my 4 basic every day tractors. JD 40,50,60,70. At the prices they were giving. Unbeliveable no deals there.
