Is it possible to get an La down to 6500lb class? You guys that pull La's what size tires are you guy's running? I was trying to find a way to put 18.4-30's on mine but where do I go for rims?

I have three LA's and they all have 18.4 x 30's. Salvage yard would probably have some. I doubt if you can get it that lite, they are a heavy tractor. Do you know the bore on it? What head do you have on it?

I know the bore is 4 5/8. But not sure of the head i will have to check. I also have an LAE power unit I was thinking about beefing up and swap out in the tractor. But need to find out what is the best way to go on that. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

you can get it down to 4500, forget 30's they are worthless for pulling, min. would be 34's, take the cast rear rims and have them turned down to put on 9 bolt wheels or weld plates on the axle and run 16.9 or 18.4x38's then get enough snot out of the motor to pull them, you did say you wanted to build a puller didn't you!

I have an LP head and pistons and stock bore have turned up the RPM to about 1600 but I'm real heavy with water in 18.4X30s since I also use it on the farm I need the weight but if I was going to use it for pulling only I would go with larger bore twin carbs and a stroker kit then as one says lighten the rear hubs and get a set 23.4X 26 tires and rims it will pull all day then. Just plan a lot on money it ain't a cheap sport.
