? Last years for narrow fronts?

What were the last years for narrow front tractors? And was it a government mandate or just that wide fronts were more popular?

Dont know about other makes, but for Deere the 30 series were the last ones available with narrow front. The 40 series came out in 78 and were wide front only. Very few 30 series have narrow front so popularity was the issue. About the only thing a narrow front is needed for is a mounted corn picker and combines pretty much replaced them by then.

You should have asked "What color was" or "Who manufactured" the last narrow front? Then you would have gotten the year.

Sorry if I wasn't clear on that. The 40 series came out part way through 1978.Deere usually changed models around August. That would mean the last 30 series would have been built around July of 1978. As far as I know deere did not keep records of exactly which front ends were origionally on each tractor built. They were interchangeable.
If the statements others have made here are correct, it could be much later. The 50 series replaced the 40 series in 1982. Its also possible a later tractor could have a front end changed by a dealer before it was sold new to a farmer, or the farmer could change it. Confused yet?
