late 4020 option question

have a '71 4020 powershift for sale, overall a nice tractor. As near as I can tell it came from the factory with 18.4-38 rear rubber and the 4320 style fenders. Dad thinks it'll sell better with the regualar fender and either 16.9-38 or 18.4 34 on it. What are other opinions on the larger rubber and bigger fenders. I myself like the looks and wish we could keep it as is.

The later 4020 were available with the 4320 fenders and 18.4X38 tires. There are several that have 38 in tires with small fenders that I pesonally think are too small .Your tractor will bring more the way it came.Original is always best.16.9x38 and 20.8x34 were also an option. The extra speed {4mph]is popular on tractor rides. If your tractor is for sale give me a call at 515-290-4336

I always thought the 18.4-38 and the 4320 fenders were only options on the late 72's. But that is not anything I saw in writing

The late ones also could have a dimmer switch on the floorboard if I recall......

JDparts.com shows SN break @ 250001

serial number
AR51446 FENDER 1 250001 - (A) R.H.

AR48873 FENDER 1 250001 - (SUB RE13879) L.H.

AR48725 SWITCH 1 250001 - dimmer

Just to add I have only seen 71/72 with large fenders.Several 69/70 have had rims and castings changed ,step up ,or came with 38 in. castings[16.9 or 15.5x38 and put larger tires on when they needed replaced.Changing castings is not that much fun and most tire shops prefer to not do it in case they break something
